First of all you need a medical history compatible with colon cancer, then you do a colonoscopy and biopsy any abnormalities.Dependent on the biopsy results you could do an mri to see if the cancer has spread.

Colonoscopy is the right test. It's no big deal. I've had three in my life.

Colonoscopy. If there are any polyps in there, they are removed at the time the colonoscopy is being done. They are sent to a lab for biopsy, and you and the doctor will know for sure. The rest will show if something is there, but that's all it will do.
