Other users comments are excellent instead..
6 :
Exactly what you would write on a card for a regular friend just include how much you care and love them and add get well soon if you want.
7 :
Write that there are many cures available now. tell him to pray for healing and tell him that he should drink green tea like it is all there is all day and even drink it like ice tea. Tell him to picture himself well it will happen. Tell him to eat a lot of tomato paste and tomato soup
8 :
I would get a card with some humor in it something that might reflect a memory or something that was funny that happen (nothing sad or gloomy) .I would tell him he needs to get better quick because the next time he See's you you maybe his nurse! It's not easy to be on the up side when a friend is ill but try to keep it cheerful as you can & tell him your pulling for him & he should fight with all he's got because the best times are yet to come. Good Luck

What are other treatment options for stage 2 colon cancer

What are other treatment options for stage 2 colon cancer?
they removed 85% of the cancer. I really need other options other than chemo

Chemo is the best option. Please take it.
2 :
There is none. Dont be fooled by anyone telling you chemo is not helpful. It has saved more lives then you can imagine. The statistics that work against chemo are nothing but smoke and mirros. Stage two colon cancer has good survival rates with chemotherapy. Without, fatal in most cases.

Find out where they are doing Clinical Trials for the drug Avastin. I can't say if you can take that drug without also taking traditional chemo, but I heard that they are having positive results with Avastin on colon and lung cancers. Avastin is not a chemo. It is a very expensive drug that robs the nutrients from cancer cells. On your internet search engine - type in "clinical trials" and then the country that you are in and the websites should come up and you can look through all the open/available clinical trials right now. Good luck.
2 :
It is very strange that they could not remove a Stage 2 colon cancer. In fact, it does not make any sense to me. Please get a second opinion. Your best chance for survival is removing the whole thing. Please go to www.fascrs.org and locate a colon and rectal surgeon closed to you ASAP! Good luck!

I'm sorry to hear about your aunt! Colon and stomach cancer are almost always fatal. There are exceptions though! Hang in there! Good luck to you !
2 :
A lot of things can influence colon cancer survival rates. Stage is a major factor, but tumor location and country of residence have also been shown to impact survival. For example, tumors in the right side of the colon are often caught later because symptoms take longer to emerge, and in countries where early screening is relatively uncommon, tumors are caught later. Studies have also found that exercise may increase colon cancer survival rates. According to the American Cancer Society, 83 percent of people with stage 3A colon cancer are still alive five years after their diagnosis. The survival rates for stage 3B (64 percent) and stage 3C (44 percent) are less encouraging. However, it's important to remember that survival rates are generalizations and your individual chances of survival may be quite different. Also, survival data reflects what has happened in the past. With all the new chemotherapy drugs available, it's possible that today's survival rate for stage 3 colon cancer is significantly higher.

WELL MY GRANDMA HAD IT SHE HAD ALL THE CANCER REMOVED AND A COLOSTIMY BAG FOR THREE YEARS AND ON HER THREE YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF BEING CANCER FREE WHICH WAS IN AUGUST IT WAS BACK IT WAS SO AGRESSIVE MY GRANDMA DIED THAT OCTOBER I HATE CANCER I THINK EVERY CASE IS DIFFERENT JUST PRAY FOR HER AND TELL YOUR AUNT TO EAT HEALTHY EXERCISE AND TO HAVE POSITIVE THOUGHTS ABOUT EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING
4 :
all i can say is i survived end stage liver cancer, i was past the transplant limit because the tumors were to big , but i guess it wasnt time to go yet!!!1 but ya, ya got to have faith, and hope, thats what my doctors and nurses kept telling me!!! so hey it works!!! good luck to her!!!!
5 :
There are only statistics and that's what they are, just statistics. Nobody has an answer for this, but your aunts outlook on this makes a big difference, if she is a true fighter. I have a friend who was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer 15 years ago and her prognosis didn't look good at all. Well she beat the cancer and is healthy and alive, but most of the other patients who had chemo treatment with her passed away. Mind over body.
6 :
Hey Federal sorry to hear that. Run a google search on resveratrol. Then try "resveratrol role in prevention and therapy of cancer", this will pullup a 58 page report from the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. It is also sutdied in Japan and China. Tons of recent research. this report is a couple of years old. They also use it for helping with chemo. It has other uses, but this will explain what pathways and mutations it deals with and then you can google some more. If you had a problem e-mail. take care.

What to expect after colon surgery (colon cancer)? How long does it really take to recover and such

What to expect after colon surgery (colon cancer)? How long does it really take to recover and such...?

My dad just went through this also. He recovered from the surgery pretty quickly, he was on solid foods in about 3 days. He was diagnosed in August 05, and they found it had gotten into one lymph node, so he started chemo shortly afterward. The chemo for this type of cancer is very mild compared to some others. He mostly just experienced feeling tired during his "chemo weeks" and numbness in his fingers and toes. No hair loss! He finished with chemo about 6 weeks ago and recently received a clean bill of health!!!!!

What is the difference between colon and anal cancer

What is the difference between colon and anal cancer?
I guess I will know more after the special of Farraha's special on TV tomorrow night. Are you going to watch it? Do you know what time it comes on, what channel? Thanks!

colon, rectum, anus, I do plan to watch Farrah's show, she is so ill now. such a beautiful, innocent person. so sad, she tried , sadly, it's just a matter of time.. don't know channel or time, sorry.
2 :
Colon cancer can be in any one of the four areas of the colon. Anal cancer usually restricts itself to the anus or rectum. Also remember that the 'colon' is a synonym for large intestine.
3 :
The anus is the last 4-5cm of the colon. The biggest difference is they tend to be more unstable and have a poorer prognosis than the rest of the colon. Farraha's documentary is on NBC, I think at 9:00 and I’m going to watch it. The situation is very sad and I feel bad she was forced to deal with this in a way she did not want just because she is famous. Even though the paparazzi hounded her daily she always seem to handle it with dignity and class. I don’t know how she did it. I hope they are giving her some peace now.

Is there a relation to colon polyps and prostate cancer

Is there a relation to colon polyps and prostate cancer?
My husband had colon polyps 15 years ago and is now diagnosed with prostate cancer. Could there be a relationship to that?
Men's Health - 5 Answers

1 :
The only relationship is that your husband has cancer and will require lots of check ups. Both of these are curable and you all are lucky....
2 :
no, there is no relationship
3 :
That is a good question because my grandfather-in-law had prostate cancer 13 years ago and has an appointment to see if he has polyps.. Never thought of that maybe it is.. I am going to ask that question tomorrow, that's when his appointment is.
4 :
Prostate Cancer is actually quite common in men. Each year, around 27,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer in the UK, making it the most common cancer in men. Some men may never have any symptoms or problems from the disease. Some types of prostate cancer can be slow-growing and may not become a serious threat to your health. Whereas others are a faster-growing and aggressive form and can be more harmful. Without seeing your husbands notes it is hard to make this diagnosis. Polyps are growths which develop in the colon and other parts of the body as well. They vary in size and appearance. They may look like a wart when small and when they grow they may appear like a cherry on a stem or fig. They are important because they can with time turn into cancer. Sometimes they can bleed causing anemia. A polyp is defined as a growth that projects, often on a stalk, from the lining of the intestine or rectum Hope this helps a little Clive Jenkins Detox Diets & Colon Cleansing http://www.detox-diet-plan.com
5 :
Short answer no! Not in any statistical sense but older men are susceptible to both colon cancer and prostate cancer as a group so exam becomes necessary for both
