usually it spreads to the lung and liver
2 :
Colon cancer and lung cancer are two different things. Colon cancer can metastasize to the lung, but it is still colon cancer.

It is absolutely possible. My grandfather had colon cancer that metastasized to his liver, bones and brain. The fact that your uterus, cervix and ovaries are in close proximity to your colon makes it very possible that it can metastasize to your cervix and/or ovaries. If you are having problems, you should follow-up with your medical oncologist so that they can order CT scans, PET scans, etc. Good luck. I hope that it turns out the cancer has not spread!

Colon cancer can metasticize. This is defined as stage 4 colon cancer. The colonoscopy will be able to tell, though, since any new tumor would have to penetrate the colon wall to come back in other areas. Talk with your doctor to see what he says--you need to find out what's going on, even if it isn't cancer.

The simple answer is yes, it can metastasize anywhere, but it is very rare for it to metastasize to any of the areas you mentioned. If you are a little young for menopause you are very young for colon cancer. You do not mention the stage of your cancer or your treatment, but if it was a stage 3 your colonoscopy could come back fine and it still could have metastasized. This is not how colon cancer is checked for mets.

Unfortunately, cancer can go where ever it darn well pleases just to put it plainly. My sister had breast cancer. Just before her 5 yr anniversary of being cancer free, she got brain tumors. Pathology on the tumors after removal showed breast cancer cells. So, yes, it can. I'm sorry, I pray you will be OK. God bless. ADD You know, I just read Denisedd, if she says no, chances are she's right.

My friend has colon cancer and wears a colostomy bag. A hernia appeared below the stoma and grew to be large.?
She thinks it is coming back but she said her Dr. said it was just where the nerves were cut. He told her it wouldn't come back. Does anyone know if a hernia comes back. Thanks

It is VERY common for hernias to come back. Has the doctor actually looked at it? They are kind of hard to miss. If it is getting larger it’s not the nerves. She needs to be insistent.

i would think you could probably get on disability/social security. theres so many idiots on it who shouldnt be on it i would think it would be easy for someone with a serious disease to get it
2 :
Where are you located? You can contact your local churchs or St Vincent Depaul or the Salvation Army.
3 :
Some charities offer you financial aid, so look around. I received a grant when I was struggling financially. Also, look into any sort of benefits.

Dad died of Colon cancer, curious what it was like

Dad died of Colon cancer, curious what it was like.?
My dad died of Colon cancer when I was 6 years old (I think he was probably around 45 years old but I'm not really sure.) I don't really remember anything from that time because I was so young. I'm just curious what the symptoms of Colon cancer are and what chances of survival people have. Sorry I wasn't able to give that much information...I don't really know that much. It would mean a lot to me if anyone was able to give me any information on it.

You don't want to know, but it eats your blood cells causing extreme pain

Hello Katie: I am sorry your dad died before you got to know him. You both missed out on a lot of wonderful times. I survived my colon cancer. There were times where my lower abdomen hurt. And there were times I passed blood in my stool. Mine was caught early enough that I was sure I would make it ok. I was with my step grandmother when she died of it. I remember her last minutes I told her I loved her she nodded than she took a deep breath and let it out and died with a smile on her face. I know she knew what I said and I know she loved me too. I was a nurse at the time so I took care of her till she passed away. She was in pain a lot so I gave her the medication that the doctors said to give her. She got to where I had to puree her food to feed her. And every thing was liquid. I would take a little taste while making it to be sure it was tasty not yucky. She got a lot of Love. A lot of good care. This is what I think every one should have at there last days. The people who love them taking care of them. My daughter was 4 years old and she remembered the love of grandma mame. This is the good memory's that children should have when there grandparents die. Again I am sorry for your loss and I hope you never get colon cancer. or any other types.
