What should you ask your doctor about Colon Cancer? My Aunt goes in to see the doctor and find out what stage of Colon Cancer she has, what questions should she ask to make sure everything is covered?

I was actually just diagnosed with colon cancer my self. some things you might want to ask about is what kind of chemo is she getting? what are the names of her chemo medicines and the side effects of each one?Is she going to need radiation and the side effects of that? make sure you ask how its going to effect her reproductive system, and her menstrual cycle. Chemo can also damage your bladder, so make sure you ask about long term side effects. There are always new questions to be thought of when she is not with her doctors so it would also be a good idea for her to keep a notepad, so she can write them down. And if you want to help her the best you can just try and keep her happy and laughing. That's what helps me the most. An illness like this in a family can be devastating, be strong to keep her strong. I wish the best of luck to you and yours!
