Dicyclomine HCL is prescribed for Irritable Bowel Syndrome that acts on nerve receptors to block Acetylcholine and the associated stimulation of the GI tract. Pysllium is a plant based fiber that forms bulk that stimulates GI motility and acts as a laxative. Psyllium isn't absorbed and thus has no systemic effects. Neither has any indication of causing cancer. Both do work on the GI tract, but in opposite ways.
