A family member of mine just passed away from colon cancer - 3 year battle! ;-( Iam so scared to get any kind of cancer. Is there any natural foods/vitamins/food that can help to prevent colon cancer or anyother kinds of cancers!? Why don't they have a cure yet for cancer man?!?!

Eat PLENTY of fresh Fruits & Vegetables; cut back on the Fast Foods; & drink LOTS of water... -& you've got the BEST Recipe for NEVER getting Colon Cancer... :)

There isn't anything guaranteed you can do to prevent cancer, but eating healthy will help. Also, some docs advocate taking supplements. But be careful choosing supplements because there is a lot of crap out there (see consumerlab.com). I know a lot of people (cancer patients and non-cancer patients) that take CNCA supplements (www.CNCAhealth.com). I've recommended them (usually Immunomax) to many cancer patients because their supplements are designed by doctors at cancer hospitals. CNCA's products are pricey, but then you get what you pay for.

Lots of vegetables, fruits, organic if you can find them... raw is best if you can. Eliminate processed foods.. they are loaded with chemicals, pesticides, preservatives, empty nutrition starches. Limit meat as much as possible.. one 3 ounce serving per day is all the protein you need. Beans can be substituted for meat as they contain high quality proteins. As a previous poster mentioned drink plenty of water.. without chlorine if possible as that destroys the favorable flora in your intestines.

I don't think science knows for sure if any specific diet will prevent cancer. We know there are some dangerous foods which are carcinogenic, so avoid those. The rest of the evidence recommending one diet or the other are based on epidemiological studies. ie. large scale studies/surveys of people on what they eat, and seeing what kinds of sicknesses they get.
