Recently when i have been going number 2 Ive been bleeding out of my butt, sometimes my lower stomach hurts too I read that colon cancer is most common in 30 - 50 year olds but I'm only 17 could i have colon cancer?

It depends where your bleeding and what colour the blood is. If there is blood in your poo, then you may be bleeding intestinally, or if you have noticed dark/brown blood in the toilet bowl it could indicate cancer or an obstruction in your colon/bowl. But usually if the blood is bright red and appears on your toilet paper, or bright red in the toilet bowl, you may just have an anal fissure or hemorrhoids, which you can easily get creams for at a chemist. But I would definitely go and see a doctor just incase because it may be very serious! Hope you feel better soon!

Although colon cancer is more common in people aged 30-50, it can effect young adults too (it's just more rare). If you are having any doubts, PLEASE get checked out by your doctor.
