Not that I see listed, however there is a predisposition to develop acute myeloid leukemia. I don't know whether this is a genetic predisposition or whether it is just a change in MDS for the worse. http://www.emedicine.com/ped/topic1526.htm

Hard to say. It depends a lot on whether you have an aggressive form of the cancer, your health, what stage you are in at the moment. I'm sorry to hear about your predicament, here in the UK I treat everyone because of the NHS. I guess that the privatisation of America's medical services is ridiculous. Sorry I couldn't be of more health. I haven't examined you physically, nor am an oncologist. But you do need serious medical attention.

make use of the SE like google or yahoo to get some ideas first if you want to get the massive information, however if you do not want to spend so much time, here http://www.HealthInsuranceIdeas.info/free-online-health-insurance.htm is a direct and good resource for your questions.

How do you know if you have colon cancer? What are the signs

How do you know if you have colon cancer? What are the signs?

1 :
Blood in stools is one of the most common signs of colon cancer. Also, flat stools (shaped like flat ribbons) is a common sign.
2 :
Colon cancer usually only presents symptoms when it is quite advanced. An early symptom is blood in the stool - but really "in"...i.e. you can't see it. It can be detected with a faecal occult stool test, but that's only done as standard after a certain age. (60 in the UK) Signs are - change in bowel habits (e.g. more/less frequent, stool is different in texture without any change in eating habits) - blood on the toilet paper BUT these symptoms are also symptoms of other, less scary things. Colon cancer is not common (but possible) in the under 50's. If you have the symptoms, and they persist for more than a few weeks, you should go to the doctor for a check up.
3 :
early colon cancer has no symptoms, so the only way to diagnose it is by screening. Symptoms include pain in the stomach, blood in the stool, change in bowel habits, feeling the urge to go to the bathroom but nothing happens, anaemia, weight loss and fatigue. You wouldn't necessarily have all the symptoms, as mentioned you may have none.

2 :

Cancer I have learned plays no favorites. It seems it comes down to the genes you care most often. I just heard today that the same gene that will increase the risk of breast & prostrate cancer also is connected to colon cancer. Bottom line man or woman, rich or poor, ethenic background matters not. You walk this earth your at risk & there seems few positive answers to your question.

What is the survival rate of colon cancer

What is the survival rate of colon cancer?

Cancer - 7 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
depends on when it,s detected. early on, it,s very high.
2 :
It depends on the stage. In stage I (the tumor in still contained in the colon), the survival rate is about 90%. In stage II (the tumor has invaded the colon wall), it's about 80%. In stage III (the tumor has spread to the lymph nodes), it hits about 64%, but it's better if only 1-4 nodes are invaded, so probably about 70% for that.
3 :
As with all cancers, it depends on-- --the stage it was diagnosed in -- Your age -- Other medical history or problems. But in general, its one of the cancers with a high survival rate these days. I think they have made more improvments in colan cancer recovery then just about any other form of cancer. Probably 80-90% for the average person.
4 :
Survival rates vary for adenocarcinoma of the colon, but these statistics will give you a general idea of the survival rate for Singapore residents who have adenocarcinoma of the colon. The five-year survival rate represents the percentage of patients alive five years after their initial diagnosis with adenocarcinoma of the colon. http://coloncancer.about.com/od/cancerstatistics/a/SG_Survival_AdC.htm
5 :
These are the best stats available at the moment Local - confined to just the one site = 89.7% Regional - the cancer is spreading into surrounding tissue = 68.4% Distant - has spread to a distant part of the body e.g. brain = 10.8% However colonic cancer is one of the less agressive and slower growing types of cancer, which is why at 64.4% the OVERALL survival rate is very similar to the regional survival rate
6 :
not long so go see a doctor ok an have a good day
7 :
It depends on the stage. At stage 1 the 5-year survival rate is 95%, at stage 4 it is 5%.

1 :
You will need whatever testing your doctor orders based on what they find on physical examination. You will obviously need a colonoscopy.
2 :
The blood test is to see if you are anemic as this is an indication of a GI bleed. To test for cancer and/or to find the source of any bleeding in the GI track is done by colonoscopy and an EGD.
3 :
FOBT (fecal occult blood test) FIT (fecal immunochemical test) iFOBT (immunochemical fecal occult blood test) Other tests for Colon Cancer: Colonoscopy Virtual colonoscopy Double contrast barium enema (DCBE) Flexible sigmoidoscopy (flex-sig)
4 :
Anal Cavity Tests.
