i have a father with colon cancer..i want him to undergo citiscan without referal from a doctor. Is it harmful for his health???

If your father is being treated for colon cancer, why would you want him to undergo any more testing than is actually required? A CT scan can be a useful tool - for Doctor's. It is useless in the hands of an uninformed lay person. You would need his Dr to interpret the results while taking into consideration all the other medical tests, examinations etc that have already been done.
